The following benefits represent a major investment for KGa and a meaningful portion of employees’ compensation.
HEALTH CARE AND DENTAL BENEFITS
KGa offers comprehensive medical and dental benefits to full-time employees. We offer a HMO and a PPO health plan and a Dental Plan. Coverage begins on the first day of the month following 90 days of employment. KGA generously pays 75% of the individual cost of the HMO health option and 75% of the individual cost of the Dental Plan for its employees.
FINANCIAL BENEFITS
Life Insurance Benefits
KGa Provides basic life coverage at no cost to employees. The benefit is $15,000 paid to the employee’s beneficiary if the employee dies.
AD&D Insurance Benefits
KGa provides basic accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance at no cost to employees. This program provides an additional benefit of $15,000, payable to the employee’s beneficiary, in the event of death due to an accident or to the employee if the loss of hands, feet or vision due to an accident.
Short-Term Disability
KGa provides short-term disability coverage at no cost to employees. In the event of an accident or illness, employees may be eligible to receive benefits equal to 60% of weekly earnings up to a maximum amount of $1,000 per week. This coverage starts on the 8th day of disability up to a benefit duration of 13 weeks.
Long-Term Disability
KGa provides long-term disability coverage at no cost to employees. In the event of an accident or illness, employees may be eligible to receive benefits equal to 60% of monthly earnings up to a maximum of $5,000 per month. This coverage starts after 90 days of disability to a maximum benefit period of the later of age 65 or SS normal retirement age.
401(k) Plan
KGa employees are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan after 90 days of service. KGa generously matches 50% of the first 4% of pay you contribute to the plan through salary deferral.
TIME AWAY FROM KGa
Vacation
After 90 days of service, employees begin accruing 5 days of vacation per year. After the first year of service, employees accrue an additional day of vacation for every year until they reach 5 years of service. After 10 ten years of eligible service, employees accrue 15 days per year.
Sick Leave
KGa provides 5 sick days each year. Sick leave can be used to care for an immediate family member living within the employee’s household.
Holidays
KGa provides for the following 6 paid holidays each calendar year: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
Bereavement/Funeral Leave
In the event of the death of an immediate family member, eligible employees are entitled to up to three days of paid leave.
WORK LIFE BENEFITS
Employee Assistance Program
KGa offers an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through Bensinger, DuPont & Associates (BDA). The EAP can help you resolve a wide variety of work/life concerns including legal and financial problems, locating child and elder care, emotional troubles, marital conflicts, and family difficulties. Their counselors are all Master’s degreed professionals, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When you call, a trained counselor will listen, evaluate your situation and provide a confidential referral. Employees and family members are eligible for up to 6 free counseling sessions.
SUPPLEMENTAL INSURANCE
Employees may elect to participate in the following supplemental insurance options offered through Colonial.
Accident Insurance - helps offset the unexpected medical expenses, such as deductibles and co-payments that can result from a fracture, dislocation, or other covered accidental injury.
Cancer Insurance - helps offset the out-of-pocket medical and indirect non-medical expenses related to cancer that most medical plans may not cover. This coverage also provides benefits for specified cancer-screening tests.
Critical Illness Insurance - complements your major medical coverage by providing a lump sum benefit you can use to help pay the direct and indirect costs related to a covered critical illness.
Hospital Confinement Indemnity Insurance - provides a lump-sum benefit for hospital confinement and outpatient surgery to help offset the gaps caused by co-payments and deductibles in most major medical plans.
Life Insurance - enables you to tailor coverage for your individual needs and helps provide financial security for your family members. This coverage is supplemental to the coverage provided for you by Kensington Glass Arts.
Disability Insurance - provides income replacement to help make ends meet if you are unable to work due to a covered injury or sickness. This coverage is supplemental to the coverage provided for you by Kensington Glass Arts.
